Michiana Eye Center physicians, technicians & opticians are versed in the latest developments in technology and are prepared to recommend the right products to complement your unique vision needs.

Progressive ("no-line") multifocals

We proudly and confidently fit the majority of our patients in the Kodak Unique Digital progressive lens, designed with Vision First Technology for:

  • A broad field of view in a clear distance area
  • Smooth gradation of power across the surface of the lens to ease adaptation
  • Gentle binocular balance for quick, clear object recognition
  • Visual quality often compared to a single vision lens

Anti-Reflective ("non-glare') coatings

Glare, which is reflected light, can compromise visual accuity and induce eyestrain.  The most common sources of irritation are from artificial lighting and digital devices. Eliminating glare relieves stress on eyes for more comfortable viewing. Reducing the nighttime reflections, particularly from  on-coming headlights, improves the ability to see objects in low light for safer, more comfortable night driving. Blue Light could be stealing your sight

Our physicians are dedicated to the protection and preservation of your vision.  Recent studies have shown that high-energy visible (HEV) light wavelengths from 415 to 455 nanometers (nm) can cause damage to retinal cells, and interfere with our ability to fall asleep by suppressing melatonin production, our sleep hormone.  The most common sources of HEV blue light are digital devices, such as flat screen TV's, tablets, laptops, mobile phones and gaming devices. The alarming increase in frequency and duration using digital devices is staggering!  We are committed to educating our patients and, when appropriate, recommending prescription & non-prescription BluTech and TotalBlue lenses which may provide relief from digital eye strain, and protect from retinal damage.
