Contact Lens Care
In order to ensure that you are seeing your best, it is important to take care of your contact lenses. Clean and safe handling of contact lenses and the solution in which they rest, is essential for protecting your sight. We recommend that you exercise the following procedures to minimize the risks of complications due to improper contact lens care.
For first-time wearers, or patients who have not worn contact lenses for a long period of time, the contact lenses are to be worn for four (4) hours maximum for the first day of wear, adding on 1-2 hours of wear each day, building up to a total of only 12-14 hours per day until your next visit with the doctor.
At Michiana Eye Center, we train first-time contact lens wearers to ensure that you are safely able to insert and remove your new lenses. Insertion and removal training may vary based on the specific lens that you are prescribed.
